acan bleeding?
« on: April 06, 2010, 12:30:06 AM »
Tonight I just noticed some of the polyps of my acan colony were bleeding from the mouth. Is that a bad sign of some sort? All my other corals including another acan looks fine and healthy. The acan colony that is bleeding looks perfectly fine except for the red slime comming out of its mouth. All polyps fully extended as usual. Its been under 250w 20k halide bulb for about a week or so on the bottom of the tank. Tank is 24 inches tall.  Any help would be appreciated.

I would suspect it was pooping  ;) or releasing some zooxanthellae. If it's looking good I wouldn't worry about it. I remember having a large mushroom or a blasto do the same thing.
