Mandarin and frozen food
« on: May 10, 2009, 07:16:13 PM »
I have quite a fat mandarin I got recently and right away he was eating pods and living large. This morning during the seahorse feeding I noticed him "perk" up when the brine hit the water! He was hurrying to find whatever landed on the rocks and got trapped in the sand. I officially have a mandarin eating frozen foods and will more than likely use this one to do a mandarin in a nano at some point.
What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss

I'm not holding my breath, but judging from the pods at night I'm still in good shape as far as food population. TBH I feed so sparingly, the Mandarin has little time to mull over the menu given the other fish eating so quickly.

Hoss, I had the same thing happen to me. As of about 5 months ago, my mandarin goes after prepared food just like the rest of the fish in the tank. I think it was frozen cyclops that brought him over. After seeing this, I feel comfortable with the tank being able to support a mate for him. Now I just actually have to find a female mandarin...

Im hearing it more and more about mandarins eating frozen and I think its a huge misnomer that they are so hard to keep. I think you just have to have the experience enough to know what to offer them. Congrats its great to hear it happens more
