Some gorgonias are fine , others they kill dure to "hitching" too often to them. I havent really seen too much explenation on which ones are good or not but that it comes to trial and error for most. I will put in a couple after I get the sea grass in there hopefully they wont hitch too much to them.

okay so today I got the new sponge for the micro bubbles (hopefully in 48 hours or so they will all be gone) I got a coral banded shrimp a red sea star and a nice fat plump mandarin. Once the micro bubbles are gone the sea grass from the keys should be in and then the ponies. WOO HOO
I will post pics of the new additions shortly

Today is the day. I got the pony home and let sit for temp acclimation and then started the drip acclimation.

After releasing it , it went straight for a blue birds nest frag to hang on, I dont think he liked it much and quickly let go.

It took a quick swim across the tank before finding the plant to hitch too.

Next up in a little bit Im gonna feed it a small amount and get in a regiman of twice a day till I can ween it to once every other day and twice on off days.

And yes that is a fake plant. The seahorses are all tank bred and in their housing tanks they have all fake plants. I will be adding some real stuff as I can get it but for now I wanted it to be as comfortable as possible

It has very nice color. I would be interested to know when and what it eats when you get to that point.

food wise they are 100% raised on frozen brine. I tried to get some today but they were sold out so tomorrow he should be hungry enough to devour some mysis till they get in the brine for it. I will try and get some video of it feeding its really spectacular. They "hit" the food so hard it shreds it and then you can see acsess shoot out the back of its head like an exhaust

Looking good man, he/she sure has nice color.

Main thing with other inhabitants is they cant be faster to the food then the horses. A lady today told me about how she keeps an ET puffer with her horses and the LFS has a couple thriving in a fully stocked reef tank with other fish. But the rule of thumb is nothing that will compete with it for food.
Firefish, cardinals, mandarins, etc are all okay. We will be adding a couple purple firefish to cap off the tank at some point.

very true micheal, if I can find tank raised one (if they exist) I would love some but I hear they die quickly. I got a couple good shots today of the horse, he ate brine right away , I tried mysis but they were just too big for him.

Im going to get some video of it eating soon, its really a cool process.

I had a pipefish once for about 40 minutes.  You don't want anything that has good suction around 'em or you will lose em.  Mine got sucked up the filter intake and minced, within 15 minutes of being loose in the tank.  I think pipefish maybe better suited for a very minimal flow tank.  They also require surface vegetation such as floating grass' as they don't hitch like a pony they kind of weave themselves into the grass to keep from being swept away.  They are a beautiful fish but seem to be very difficult to maintain on the longterm.  I know of one person, personally who has kept one for an extended period of time but he keeps his in a 20 gallon reef as the only fish with very low flow, he calls it a tidepool with corals. And his extended period I believe hes had it about 8 months.  Everyone else that i know pesonally have had minimal success with them, mine lasted about 40 minutes and most dont make it through the first week.

yeah the LFS has been getting some very fat ones and I wouldnt ever buy another not this healthy looking. My other one was smaller in every way and never spread his fins or flared his top pointy fin like the new one does.
