My 55 over time
« on: April 08, 2009, 02:47:19 PM »
I don't know if I posted past to present pics on here yet but here it is. Before I made changes to the tank, I had it running for about 6 years looking like this.
from the start of the transformation June 2008

learning more...later on June 2008

takin it slow...September 2008

Now I have corals April 2009

These are the transitions that my tank has gone through since I joined the online community about a year ago. Thanks to all you guys helping me out and giving great advice I have learned a lot and finally have corals.

Nice Teric.  Dont know how long your tanks been set up but I did not notice much coraline growing in there yet.

Keep your Ca around 450 now that your starting some SPS in there.
Years of: wet floors, salt water up to my elbows, reading till my eyes hurt, 20,000 miles going to the LFS and club meetings,  QTs, slimy corals, broken pumps, overflowing RO units, bad test kits, algae...Can you believe this is the best hobby in the world?

I set up the tank around 2002ish. Never learned about all this live rock/sand etc...until I came to the online forums and talked to you guys. All I learned was what my dad knew from way back in the day when I was a kid.
My calcium levels are off the charts right now so I expect the SPS corals to bring them down to normal levels.

Sure has come a long way since the PetCo rock Teric.....looks good  :)
What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss

It looks very nice Eric. Just a few more thousand dollars at IMAC and Reef A Palooza and you will have the best tank on the site. You bring the money, I'll be happy to watch you spend it. Keep selling that Chaeto.
